...our 5-1/2 year old daughter, Tali, taking hold of a colorful silk scarf, gathering all those present, and proudly announcing, “This is the ADOPTION LUIS dance!!!” before proceeding to twirl and swing and wave and flip and turn herself and her scarf wildly in every direction possible. I quip, “Yup. That pretty much sums it up!” And Tali should know, after living in Guatemala fostering her little brother and jumping bureaucratic hoops before finally bringing him home 10 months later.

...looking at our son, knowing he will grow up to do great things, and wondering what those will be.
...knowing our son will never feel unwanted or unloved.
...watching our son's spirit and creativity pour out of him.
...being able to spend each and every day with our hero.

...watching a little girl grow from an orphanage statistic into a beautiful, spunky, smart, playful, loving, perky little girl.
...not knowing if our daughter will ever walk "normal," but knowing that she will walk with her forever family and be loved unconditionally.

...snapping the missing piece into the puzzle.
...rocking three laughing kids in a rocking chair, all at the same time.
...reading the new AHOPE T-shirt which says, “You are five years old. Today your mother died of AIDS. You are HIV+. You have no home, no food, no medication, no hope. Who will help you?” and knowing that someone did.

… the only gift that never ends. While its starting point can be seen by all, it will only end after many generations.
…a gift that is truly unique in the human experience. Those who are yet to be born (or adopted) by our son and daughter will forever be touched and blessed by this gift. The measure of a family tree that can extend thru the years, is the immensity of this gift and short of the gift of life itself, it has no comparison in all of humanity.

...the three amazing kids who fill our hearts with love, our house with noise, our days with the challenge of raising them and the joy of watching them succeed! I can't imagine our family any other way.

...a complete family. It is knowing we all belong together and seeing our son grow and change in so many ways..

We are just so grateful to you for truly moving the last obstacle between our family and a little girl who has been through so much and deserves to be loved. This one grant may seem like a drop in the bucket in terms of the bigger picture of international adoption. But, please know that it has made all the difference in the world to one little child who, because of you, is coming home.
